about the artist

My name is Sarah Kohari. I am originally from Telluride, CO, where I grew up with the mountains surounding me. I am currently in my third year at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I am working towards a minor in Fine Arts and a major in Philosophy for prelaw. I have had a love for art since my early childhood when my mom would lay out watercolors and crayons for me everyday to create with. I have always used art to express and explore different emotions and ideas. Throughout my life I have taken art classes in and out of school, but I got more serious

about pursuing art in high school. I always knew that I wanted to take art classes in college to work towards my dream of creating a path for myself that allows me to make art. I usually like to work with the mediums charcoal, pen and ink, and acrylic paint. However, I am always trying new ways to create with new mediums and techniques. I usually like to portray aspects of the human body/ figures as the subjects in my work. Most of the time, I use neutral colors and greyscales in my art with accents of one or two bold colors. My art usually follows a sexual, meloncholy aesthetic that tends to comment on different kinds of relationships that people experience in their lives. I am mainly inspired by these different relationship from my own experiences in my life. I am excited to be able to build my knowledge of digital art so that I am able to improve my own work and create skills that will allow me to further my art career. Below are some of my past works.
